Skilled Workers

Canada employs a point system of selection factors to determine if an individual qualifies to immigrate as a skilled worker.  The point system is designed to determine if an individual is likely to become economically established in Canada.

Maximum points are awarded for education and work experience or skills in a specific trade or profession that is in high demand in Canada.

To qualify as a skilled worker, an individual must obtain a score of at least 67 points.

Our lawyers can advise you on whether you are eligible to immigrate to
Canada as a skilled worker.  We can then prepare your application for you and demonstrate to Citizenship and Immigration Canada how you meet the required criteria under the skilled worker category.

Provincial Nominee Program

If you are able to obtain a job offer from a Canadian employer in advance, for a job where there is a labour shortage in that province, there is a possibility that your application for permanent residence could be processed on an expedited basis under a Provincial Nominee Program.

In some cases, individuals may also be able to immigrate to Canada under a provincial nominee program without having to meet the required pass mark under the federal program.
